Maze

Maze

Latest joiner. Maze is a Hamburg citizen since 2000 and entered the stages since 1992 with the Irish Folkrock Band "In Search Of A Rose". Huge supporter of St. Pauli and Glasgow Celtic as well as a multiinstrumentalist. However with the "Millerntor Brigade" he prefers to play the Mandolin only. Back in 1993 he sang the rebel songs "Some say the devil is dead" and "Come out ye black and tans" at a gig in the British Army Camp, Lemgo - and he's still alive. Occasionally Maze joins the "Biblecode Sundays" from London on stage.

Niclas

About 10 Years after the first small attempts and gigs with a band called "Folky Fools" and after more than 10 years singing and Guitar playing in a rock-cover band, a small entry in the St. Pauli Internet Bulletin Board offered the chance to fulfill a long time desire. I always wanted to be part of a band playing and celebrating irish music - especially the political and rebel minded songs. Our Music tells about freedom, bravery and resistance - topics which are timeless and become more and more relevant in our times.
Remembering the feelings and chants of our first Gig at the Knust and all the positive reaction it was undoubtedly a good decision to join the other "Millerntor Brigadiers" - at least not only because of the music...

Ireland - the land, the people, the politics, the music. My Life was affected by this country for centuries (approximated). Because we had brilliant guitar players right from the start, I took a new instrument - the bouzouki. Therefor I am the only one beside Sönke, who is allowed to practice amplified...;-)

I am playing bass guitar since the beginning of the 90s - with some longer breaks, though - mainly in Rock/Crossover. My interest in Irish music (and not just Guinness) grew due to quite a few trips over to Ireland (I have family there) and me spending some months in Dublin for work. I knew about some links between FC St.Pauli and Celtic FC and so one day I joined a couple of my Irish workmates for my first trip to paradise and I got infected by the Celtic virus, too. Trips to some games followed and the annual St.Pauli-Celtic party became a highlight. Latest after the second party it became clear: we wanna do the same, we wanna be up there, so we founded Millerntor Brigade. To me, it is quite a contrast musically and the bass guitar is much more in the background than in my 4 piece Rock band, but I love it, it's good craic to me.

And then we have Andi, one of the founders of the band, and our "special guest" - the OL.
